Colorado River Discovery
Smoothwater Float Trips
for the Entire Family!

Colorado River Discovery offers tours on the spectacular fifteen miles of Colorado River between Glen Canyon Dam, just outside Page, Arizona, and historic Lees Ferry, gateway to the Grand Canyon (see map).

These are smoothwater float trips perfect for the entire family (ages four years and older).  This is one of the most popular trips in all of northern Arizona!

In addition to our standard trips, new this year Colorado River Discovery will offer a full-day rowing trip option.  Please see below for a full description of these exciting new trips.

Our Very Popular
Half-Day Trips

From May 1 through September 30, we will offer two daily departures at 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.  In October and November, we will offer one trip per day departing at 11:00 a.m.

You may bring your own drinks, lunch or snacks.  A variety of such items are available for purchase at the Colorado River Discovery headquarters.

Please come to our Page headquarters at least 30 minutes before your departure time to check in.  We require a minimum of six full-fare passengers to launch a trip.  If the minimum is not reached, all guests will receive a full refund.

All Colorado River Discovery river trips begin with an exciting ride down the two-mile long Glen Canyon Dam access tunnel.  With the dam soaring 700 feet above you, you will board a motorized pontoon raft for your journey downstream, where you will experience one of the most dramatic stretches of river found in the western United States.

While underway, your experienced guide will tell the area’s story of soaring sandstone cliffs, crystal blue-green waters, abundant wildlife,  former inhabitation by native cultures, exploration by Major John Wesley Powell, and the river's modern role in the Southwest’s water and power delivery system.

Your trip will also include a stop to view ancient petroglyphs left by Ancestral Puebloan peoples.  The river portion of your trip ends at historic Lees Ferry, where you will board your vehicle van for the short ride back to the Page.

New Full-Day Rowing
Trips for 2008

New this year, Colorado River Discovery is very pleased to offer our new full-day rowing trip option.  The itinerary is the same as our standard trips described above, but these trips will utilize smaller, human-powered rafts rowed by expert boatman also skilled at interpreting the area.

These trips are available on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday only.

Colorado River Discovery's rowing trips will allow for a quieter and even more leisurely experience, and a very intimate encounter with this beautiful stretch of the Colorado River.  Stops will include Lunch Beach, where participants will enjoy a satisfying deli style mid-day meal, and a visit to the outstanding Ancestral Puebloan petroglyph panel, some 2000 years old.

Each Colorado River Discovery row boat holds a maximum of eight guests, plus your guide.  Participants in the full-day rowing trip meet at our Page, Arizona headquarters at 8:30 a.m. and will return to Page at approximately 5 p.m.  Space is limited so book early.
